The exhibition "The Red-breasted Geese flyway - from Siberia to Bulgaria" will open in Shabla

On October 4 (Saturday) at 11 am the exhibition " The Red-breasted Geese flyway - from Siberia to Bulgaria" will open in Green Educational center in Shabla. The exhibition is organized by the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds ( BSPB ) in partnership with the Centre, within the fourth edition of the Kite Festival – Shabla and on the occasion of the EuroBirdwatch. Last week, between 18-20 th February 2014, the LIFE+ Project was host to an international meeting dedicated to the conservation of the Red-breasted Goose. The town of Kavarna was chosen to host the first AEWA Red-breasted Goose International Working Group meeting. The International Working Group includes representatives of state authorities of the five key countries for the species – Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria - and experts and conservationists from those countries. Students of the Faculty of Biology, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and guests from the country met the BSPB project team working on the LIFE+ “Safe Ground for Redbreasts” project,     to see the Red-breasted geese off to their wintering grounds and wish them good luck this weekend.
