A TRADITIONAL VISIT
24.01.2013

Once again Scottish Ornithologist Brian Morell  and Desislava Parvanova from the BSPB “Safe Ground for Redbreasts” project visited the students of "St. Kliment Ohridski "school in Durankulak.

They exchanged greetings for the New Year and traditionally discussed the development of the ornithologists’ studies in the area, targeted at the rare Red-breasted Goose. Mr. Morrell spoke about the method of catching geese to tag them with satellite transmitters and track their movements. The transmitter that scientists use for this purpose raised enormous interest and the children had the opportunity to see and touch it.

With a funny game about the migration of the Red-breasted Goose and good wishes for a successful year finished this ninth visit to the school, which is a partner with the school in Caerlaverock - Scotland, located in a similar area, where Brian Morell and his colleagues work.
