THE FIRST GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE ARE ALREADY AT SREBARNA LAKE
21.10.2013

Traditionally, Srebarna Lake is the first stop for the geese wintering in North-eastern Bulgaria on their way to their wintering grounds. This year however, the first flocks were registered a little bit earlier than expected - on the weekend of 19/20 October 2013, project conservation officer Daniel Mitev observed a flock of 110 Greater White-fronted and 400 Greylag geese in the surroundings of Srebarna Lake. We are now eager to welcome the first Red-breasted geese for this winter.
